Anger Coping Skills

Anger coping skills

Many people have trouble coping with their strong feelings and in managing conflict.  This may be because they have an additional need or something else.

The benefit of having this support is that it:

Enables and encourages people to become reflective regarding their own behaviour and the consequences of that behaviour

Enable people to label feelings

Develops self-esteem and self-confidence

Enables people to accept and utilise constructive structured criticism and feedback

Encourages people to develop their own self-control and self-management strategies

Encourage people to develop empathy and authenticity

Enables people to develop flexibility to cope more effectively with change and new systems and ways of doing things

Help people to develop internal locus of control, i.e. to encourage them to have a sense of control over their own actions

Encourages people to develop self-motivation, resilience and a positive attitude

Encourages people to learn and make use of alternatives to physical or verbal aggression and to express their feelings and views in a more positive and assertive way

Promotes a positive ethos and climate in which the notion of change become a positive daily reality

The anger coping skills course will aim to help:

  • Avoid or manage situations of conflict
  • Understand that he/she/they can create change
  • Realise that it is possible to resolve difficulties
  • Plan positive responses to provocative situations

Recent Testimonial:

I found Michelle to be really lovely, she has a warm energy and I felt relaxed with her to open up and be honest. I felt that she understood me and has helped me to overcome a lot of the feelings I had beforehand. I really enjoyed working through the “stories”, I felt that they were useful in how to help me look at things in life differently and I still think about those scenarios when dealing with friendship issues now.

On our first session, Michelle asked me to give scores on 8 different areas of my life and then at the end of our 4 sessions, we re-looked, and it was so reassuring to see how my scores that I had given had changed so much, which just showed how much better I was feeling about myself and certain areas in my life. I’m so grateful to the sessions I had with Michelle, I feel like a different person.
